A new 7″ vinyl/CD box set collects the A-side and B-side singles from Motörhead’s late era, spanning from 1995 to 2006.
Bent We Take No Prisoners: The Singles: 1995 – 2006The set will arrive on vinyl (nine 7″ vinyl records) and as a 2-CD box set, both on sale October 25. The song “Shut Your Mouth,” from the band’s 2002 album Hammeredwas chosen as the lead single from the collection.
This box set is especially interesting for collectors. As mentioned in the band’s press release, 7″ singles were a dominant format until the 90s, when CDs took over. Many of these tracks were released as CD singles at the time, before becoming sought-after collector’s items. This box set not only brings them back into print, but most of them receive their first release on 7″ vinyl.
Notable inclusions include Motörhead's cover of the Sex Pistols' “God Save The Queen,” concert favorite and box set lead “Sacrifice” and the semi-acoustic “Whorehouse Blues.” Numerous radio edits and rare live tracks are found on the B-sides, plus the final ninth disc features a long-lost promotional interview with Lemmy and Mikkey Dee from 2004 (the CD and digital editions are slightly expanded and feature the same tracks as the vinyl set).
