Rachelle Jean-Louis accepts the Executive of the Year award from Victoria Monét at Billboard's 2024 R&B Hip-Hop Power Players.
Dana Droppo:
Hi everyone. My name is Dana Droppo. I'm Billboard's Chief Brand Officer. It is a tremendous honor to introduce an artist whose unparalleled talent has earned her Billboard's Rising Star Women in Music honor. Also seven Grammy nominations, three wins, including Best New Artist. She is a decorated songwriter. She is an explosive dancer and visionary of R&B music, a genre that is, in the words of her manager, “both timeless and influential.” Tonight, we are here to celebrate this manager, an incredible executive that I am so proud and excited to honor. He is someone who always answered and got me out when I needed a favor or advice. She was a big dreamy and quiet hustler from the day I met her. And I also think it's illegal to be so talented and so incredibly good at the same time. She's giving Virgo energy, which is very fitting, because she's the second woman ever to be named Billboard's Hip-Hop and R&B Executive of the Year. The first was Beyonce. Welcome to the scene. Victoria Monet.
Victoria Monet:
Hi everyone. I'll be reading from my phone and have a lot to say, so take care.
