Linkin Park roared back on Thursday night (September 5), with Bulletin boardThe exclusive digital cover story dives into the surprise return of the big-selling rock band. Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain have joined the band as co-singer and drummer/co-producer, respectively. their new album, From scratchwill be released on November 15th. They will play six shows on four continents, starting next week. and have big tour plans in 2025.
And the band kicked things off in riveting fashion with a live performance from the Warner lot in Los Angeles on Thursday night, playing a mini set for die-hard fans for just over an hour. The set marked Linkin Park's first show in seven years, following the tragic death of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.
After an intro that included tracks from 'Castle of Glass' and 'The Requiem', the band dropped 'The Emptiness Machine', which will be their lead single From scratch. Armstrong appeared on stage mid-song to deliver her second verse, as a reveal of who would be joining Mike Shinoda as the band's other lead singer.
Linkin Park then performed a medley of their greatest hits (“In the End,” “Numb,” “Crawling”) and fan favorites (“Lying From You,” “Waiting for the End”). They also gave “Lost,” the rediscovered single from last year's 20-year Meteora set, its live debut, with Armstrong leading a piano version of the Top 40 hit.
The band will kick off their six-month arena tour next Wednesday (September 11) in Los Angeles. Until then, check out the setlist for Thursday's intimate show and watch the full performance below:
