Rejoice sneakerheads for a new Nike x Patta Air Max 1 is set to release in just a few days and the colorway is one that is sure to turn a few heads and get a second look.
According to Winthe latest installment in their ever-growing Patta x Nike collection is set to release on September 13th and will come in the form of the classic Air Max 1 silhouette coming in the coveted 'Chlorophyll' green colorway reserved for the most exclusive drops. Unfortunately, this Air Max 1 collaboration won't have the wavy muds that the previous Patta x Air Max 1 had (we loved that little detail), as they've opted to stay true to the original release that came out in 2009.
The return of the 'Chlorophyll' Patta x Nike Air Max 1 comes as Patta celebrates 20 years, so what better way to mark the milestone than by bringing back one of their most coveted collaborations of all time?
Per Nike:
Fans of the Air Max 1 Chlorophyll will find the fresh drop almost identical to the original, with a few modern touches. Then and now, the designers obsessed over every detail — even reusing the exact same fabric from the 2009 release for this fall. The Chlorophyll and Matte Silver colorway is as iconic as ever, and the custom Patta tongue tag is reminiscent of the space the brand has carved out in sneaker culture. An updated sock liner swaps a Dutch Guilder design for one with a €20 note, and a custom box, decorated with chlorophyll tones, focuses on Patta's 20 years of service to the community.
“Chlorophyll's early work was almost like a first album: There was a lot of energy, a lot of ideation in there, and the product was just very organic,” says Patta co-founder Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt. “With this release, we stay true to the essence of the shoe, which truly stands the test of time. It's just an amazing time to bring back a shoe that is so sought after, so loved by the sneaker community and the community at large.”
We need some of these couples in our lives.
