Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' “Die With a Smile” scores a second week at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. American charts. Two weeks earlier, the duo had debuted at number two on each chart.
Additionally, Sabrina Carpenter claims three songs in the top 10 of both the Global 200 and Global Excl. US for a second week — all from her new album, Short n' Sweetwhich posts a second week at No. 1 on the US-based Billboard 200.
Global 200 and Global Excl. The US charts, which launched in September 2020, rank songs based on streaming and sales activity from more than 200 territories around the world, as compiled by Luminate. Global 200 includes global data and Global Excl. The US chart includes data from regions outside the United States.
Chart scores are based on a weighted formula that incorporates only official streams on both subscription and ad-supported tiers of music audio and video services, as well as download sales, the latter of which reflect purchases from full-service digital music retailers from worldwide, with sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites excluded from chart calculations.
“Die With a Smile” tops the Global 200 with 105.8 million streams, up 9% week-over-week, and 10,000 sales (down 13%) worldwide from Aug. 30-Sept. 5. The ballad, released on August 16, it's Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' first No. 1s each since the chart began.
Sabrina Carpenter lands three songs in the top five of the Global 200 for a second week: “Taste” holds on at No. 2, where it debuted a week earlier. “Espresso” sinks 3-4, after three non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 beginning in June. and “Please Please Please” drops 4-5, after two weeks at No. 1 also beginning in June.
Among Carpenter's songs in the Global 200's top five, Billie Eilish's “Birds of a Feather” rebounds 5-3, after three weeks at No. 1 beginning in August.
“Die With a Smile” concurrently leads the Global Excl. US with 79.2 million streams, up 18% and 5,000 sold (down 7%) outside the US Aug. 30-Sept. 5. As on the Global 200, it became the first No. 1 for Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars each since the survey began.
Eilish's 'Birds of a Feather' remains at No.2 after three weeks atop the Global Excl. USA since August.
Carpenter's 'Espresso' is at No. 3 Global Excl. US, after eight non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 beginning in May, while her “Taste” repeats at No. 4 in its second week on the chart and “Please Please Please” falls 5-6, after a week at No. 1 in June.
Also in Global Excl. In the US top 10, Karol G's “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” pushes 6-5 after peaking at No. 2.
Additionally, Teddy Swims' “Lose Control” climbs 12-10 in Global Excl. US The song ranks in the top 10 for the first time in nearly four months. However, it has placed in the top 20 every week since the first week of February. peaked at No. 3 in March.
