Police in Berlin are searching for a man suspected of crashing his car into the entrance to a nightclub, Sisyphos, after being refused entry, according to local reports.
Berlin newspaperone of the city's oldest newspapers, reported Monday that the incident took place shortly before 6 a.m. on Sept. 7, when a pair of security guards denied the man entry to Sisyphos.
“The two security guards, aged 26 and 41, turned him away, which he initially acknowledged politely and then walked away,” according to Berlin newspaper“However, shortly afterwards he returned in a hired car, completely upset, and deliberately crashed twice into the club's entrance gate.”
The suspect crashed his rented Audi into the wall of Sisyphos before reversing and crashing into the club's famous door, which features a design of kissing ducks. He apparently fled the scene and no one was injured, including security guards, who managed to evade his vehicle by jumping back onto the pavement.
Additional details about the alleged accident are scarce, but an investigation is underway as local authorities seek witness testimony. The extent of the damage to the exterior of Sisyphos is unclear at the time of writing and the club's owners have yet to comment publicly.
