Playboi Carti season seems to be on the horizon. After releasing his first streaming song of 2020 with “All Red” on Friday (September 13), Carti further spoke about I am Music while revealing the involvement of Ye (ex Kanye West).
The Atlanta rapper took to his own Instagram Stories to shout Ye, and said he was in the lab working on his album together.
“@Ye KANT WAIT 2 SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE WORK WITH THE WE DA REAL 5L album NO DOUBT,” he captioned above a photo of the “All Red” cover.
Carti's next IG Story featured his DMs — one of which contained a message from Ye that seemed to lend his meaning to his latest single. “I love that,” West replied.
Whether this means West has collaborations on the album, production, or is more of an executive producer remains to be seen. Carti also referred to Mike Dean's involvement behind the boards. “@therealmikedean CRAZY AS USUAL GENIUS S–T,” he wrote in a story.
Ye and PBC have a rich history of cooperation over the years. Carti made several appearances in the Vultures and Vultures 2among which he earned his first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit. 1 with “Carnival”. West hosted at Carti's Whole Lotta Red cut “Go2DaMoon” in 2020.
With the arrival of “All Red” and an official I am Music announcement, it finally looks like Carti's first album in four years could be arriving soon.
Installed vinyl covers for the project his Instagram and invited fans to visit his websitewhere Carti's online store is selling digital albums along with merchandise bundles, but there's no release date and it's promised to arrive before October 2025.
As for Ye, he's been busy this year releasing a pair Vultures projects with Ty Dolla $ign, which are his first since being convicted of repeated hate speech. It is now for China for a solo concert scheduled for Haikou on September 15th.
