Last year, Benjamin Gibbard revived the Postal Service for the accompanying tours with his other big band Death Cab for Cutie. After a ton of shows, in 2023 and 2024, Gibbard is once again putting the postal service on hiatus.
“As we wrap up the Transatlanticism / Give Up tour, I want you all to know that the opportunity to perform these two albums live has been one of the greatest thrills and honors of my entire life,” Gibbard said in a statement. . “On behalf of Death Cab for Cutie and the Postal Service. Thank you so much for coming out and singing along. We'll see you all again somewhere down the road.”
Prior to the anniversary shows, the Postal Service had not toured since 2013. The lineup for the 2023 and 2024 concerts included Gibbard, Jimmy Tamborello and Jenny Lewis. The last performance of the group takes place on Saturday, September 21 at HFStival in Washington, DC
