It seems the game of musical chairs continues with of ESPN staff. Shams Harania announced that he is now a follower of NBA Insider by Adrian Wojnarowski exit.
As reported by Deadline, the popular basketball personality has taken his talents to the global sports network. On Monday, October 7 he made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I am honored to join ESPN as the company's Senior NBA Insider. I look forward to joining an incredible team of colleagues at ESPN and serving sports audiences around the world,” he wrote. This news comes on the heels of Adrian Wojnarowski's recent departure from the brand after serving as an NBA reporter since 2017. Last month, the Bristol, Conn. native. revealed that he was retiring from journalism to take the position of general manager of the men's basketball team at the University of St. Bonaventure, his alma mater.
When asked about his replacement, Woj made it clear that the position is an opportunity of a lifetime. “I hope he has as fulfilling and rewarding a career as I have,” he said. “And I certainly wish that for him and he's right about the incredible group of colleagues he's going to find at ESPN. To me, that's always been the best part of working at ESPN.”
2024 was a tough year for ESPN in terms of employee turnover. In August, the network had a reorganization that resulted in the termination of several on-air personalities.
