Aphex Twin's latest single has been three decades in the making.
The pioneering electronic music producer released one of his most influential works in 1994, Selected environmental works Volume II. 30 years later, he's now sharing a new “Expanded Edition” of the album via his former home, Warp Records.
“Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev”, a reinterpretation of the third track from Selected environmental works Volume II. According to a press release issued by Warp, the new single was written by Aphex Twin, conducted by Marek Moś and performed by the AUKSO Tychy Chamber Orchestra and OCTAVA Ensemble. Aphex Twin then “recorded and reverted” it before today's release.
Selected Environmental Works Volume II (Expanded Edition) will be launched this Friday, October 4 in five new formats. The album will include all tracks from the various editions of its predecessor, as well as new music, with a total of 27 ambient soundscapes to enjoy.
