Beabadoobee is the latest artist to feature on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge and apart from her song 'Beaches' This is how tomorrow moves album, the 24-year-old singer also performed a cover of fellow TIME100 Next honoree Sabrina Carpenter's “Taste.”
In her version of the track, Beabadoobee strips down the pop song to a cooler, ethereal sound, singing the first two verses and choruses in her signature sweet, high-pitched voice. He then seamlessly weaves the “Taste” chorus into the hook for The Corrs' “Breathless.”
“Taste”, which was released on August 23 as her third single Short n' Sweet album, recently reached its eighth consecutive week at the top The Official UK Singles Chart and becomes the longest-running No. 1 single of the year. Between “Espresso” (seven weeks at No. 1) and “Please Please Please” (five weeks), Carpenter becomes only the second artist in chart history to spend 20 weeks at the top, after Frankie Laine.
“Breathless”, meanwhile, was released in 2000 as the first single from the Irish family's third album, In Blueand peaked at No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking The Corrs' only top 40 hit. It also reached No. 14 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
