Every week, Consequence plays on New Music Friday highlighting new albums to stream. It's almost the end of October and there are plenty of great new records to listen to this week.
Among the highlights is the excellent new album by Consequence cover stars Amyl and the Sniffers; new releases from alternative rock veterans Pixies, Tears For Fears and Laura Marling; exciting live recordings by Florence + The Machine and Crosby Stills Nash & Young; and an expansive box set celebrating the 20th anniversary of Green Day's American Idiot.

Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young – Living at Fillmore East, 1969
55 years ago, the folk-rock group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young embarked on their first tour as a quartet after a successful performance at Woodstock. That tour included four performances at New York's Fillmore East, one of which is now being turned into a live album. The 17-track album showcases everything the band was capable of, from their slower acoustic songs to their downright rocking jams.

Florence + The Machine – Symphony of the Lungs (BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall)
Florence + the Machine have been relatively quiet since the release of their latest album in 2022 dance feverbut now, Florence Welch and company. are back to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut album Lungs. The new live album is a recording of the group's special show in London last month, where they played. Lungs fully backed by Jules Buckley and his orchestra. It's available digitally today, but those looking for a physical release will have to wait until March 14, 2025.

Green Day – American Idiot (20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)
After celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal album american idiot Playing it in full during their 2024 “Saviors Tour,” Green Day is now releasing a deluxe edition of the record. The new anniversary package includes 15 previously unreleased demo recordings, a live performance of the band's 2004 concert at Irving Plaza in New York City, B-sides, bonus tracks and much more.
