Metal and hip-hop collide on Megan Thee Stallion’s new song “TYG” featuring Spiritbox. The track appears on the rapper’s new release, Megan: Act II, which is out today (October 25th).
“TYG” marks the second collaboration between the hip-hop artist and the Canadian metal band, following last year’s “Cobra (Rock Remix),” which earned our Heavy Song of the Week honors upon its release.
The new track was co-written by Megan with Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer, among others. The song features Megan delivering spitfire lyrics with LaPlante’s metallic screams adding to the ferocity.
Megan: Act II is a super deluxe reissue of Megan Thee Stallion’s third album, Megan, released in June of this year. Act II includes an entire bonus disc of new material, including”TYG” and collaborations with Flo Milli and BTS member RM.
Meanwhile, Spiritbox are currently playing the final dates of their North American tour with Korn an Gojira (pick up tickets here), before joining Bring Me the Horizon for a pair of Latin American gigs in November and December.
Heavy Consequence caught Spiritbox’s recent show with Korn and Gojira at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Check out our photo gallery beneath the audio for “TYG” below.
