Rihanna shares her thoughts on Kendrick Lamar taking the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2025. Keep watching to see what she thinks!
Tetris Kelly:
Everyone needs a loyal friend like Rihanna. The Fenty mogul lent an emphatic seal of approval to Kendrick Lamar's performance at next year's Super Bowl halftime show. Entertainment Tonight caught up with Rih on Wednesday at her Fenty Puma event in Los Angeles, where she gushed about Kendrick getting the chance to take the Super Bowl stage she previously rocked in 2023.
Rihanna:
Come on… what doubt is there about that?
Interviewer:
No, it's going to be amazing, I'm just asking what you think because you've been to the Super Bowl before. You have that special perception.
Rihanna:
It's a diamond on your ring finger, baby! It's meant to be!
Interviewer:
I'm with you.
Rihanna:
Kendrick Lamar, he deserves it. I can't wait to see it. …Kendrick, thank you.
Tetris Kelly:
While there has been much debate about Kendrick's casting, Rihanna has no doubt that her loyal collaborator is the right man for the job. However, artists including Nicki Minaj, Master P and Cam'ron have criticized the NFL for snubbing Lil Wayne when the Super Bowl was held in his hometown of New Orleans. Nicki wrote on X in September: “You can love and respect Kendrick and still love and respect Wayne. Even Kendrick loves and respects Wayne. Every real rapper loves and respects Wayne.”
RiRi and Lamar team up for “Loyalty” on the Compton rapper's 'DAMN.' album in 2017. Perhaps Rihanna will make a surprise return to the Super Bowl stage next year by reuniting with Kendrick as a surprise guest.
