God Fahim released his 25th LP not even 48 hours later The myth that never gives up 2. Starting off as a subsidiary of Griselda Records, as well as being 1/3 of Dump Gawds alongside Mach-Hommy & Your Old Droog, we also can't ignore the massive discography he's managed to build for himself, some of which they stand out Breaking Through Th Van Allen Belts & Dump Assassins. But dude was on a CRAZY ass EP run in 2023, with the standout being Camoflauge Monk production Dark Shogun AssassinNature Sounds supported Iron Bull & the Nicholas Craven-prod Dump Gawd: Shot Clock King series, the Oh No-production BerserkerFahim's latest EP Dump Gawd: Rhyme Pays Produced by Mike Shabb The Supreme Treasurer of All Virgin Wealth, Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga Produced by Cookin' Soul & & more recently Machine gun vocabulary Produced by Cartune Beatz. It has been 5 years since then This myth that never gives up & to listen a chapter of a trilogy was coming and I hoped it would live up to the bar set by its predecessor from earlier in the week.
“Becareful What You Wish For” tries a woodwind to start The myth that never gives up 3 telling everyone to be careful what they wish for because they just might get it, while “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap” adds another win to his winning streak over a raw boom bap instrumental. “Genki Dama” soulfully declares that the only way to deal with him properly, while “Tha Deadzone” works in more kicks and traps by making ground with his power level.
As for “A Lot on My Mind” we have Fahim talking about this life shit it's a soft boom bap vibe over the beats just before “100 Proof” drops the new school gems trying soul music again. “Absolute” ties together some vocals that beguile and not because he grew up suffering, but then “It Ain't Free” atmospherically conjures memories in the form of him climbing.
“Tha Legend Continues” pushes towards the final moments of the last entry This myth that never gives up series that crosses chipmunk soul & boom bap warning that the studio isn't a safe place once he's in the booth and finally “Whippersnapper” wraps up Breadrick Douglas' 2nd project this week with the hard-hitting tip that solves nobody can catch him and has been etched in history.
3 albums in a whole month and I'm gone The myth that never gives up 3 enjoying it almost as much The myth that never gives up 2 since it lived up to my expectations, maybe a little more since they're both neck-and-neck for Fahim's best offering of 2024. Nicholas Craven's soul-heavy boom bap production combined with the hungry lyricism from earlier chapters carry over and they rise even further.
