Vinyl records for Tyler, the Creator's new album COLOR COPIES have already made it into the hands of fans and discovered a cool easter egg. Not only is there a bonus track entitled “He told me/It was fine', there's also a ScHoolboy Q and Santigold assisted version of 'Thought I Was Dead' featuring Playboi Carti.
Carti begins his verse by rapping, “Ti thought i was dead, i thought i was dead/i can't kick it, i got no legs/GLS made me avoid all the feeds/Knowing i got an upset.” He then brags a bit about his influence as he ends the verse by spitting, “Still thinkin' out I ain't doin' it for the 'Gram or the 'net/Feelin' like a zombie, can't lose/Double R clean, let's go fishing/Tryna move like us, their shoes don't match.”
So far there have only been clips of the song on social media and YouTube, so there's no telling if the bonus vinyl cuts will eventually make their way to streaming.
Tyler released his seventh solo album on Monday morning because not the biggest fan of the current industry standard of Friday midnight albums. Tyler wants fans to be able to properly digest a body of work he's worked hard for. The Hawthorne, CA rapper gave fans some tips on how to listen to this project on his Instagram Storysaying, “Make sure you listen fully, with no expectations, no distractions, no controlling text or social media, allowing others to paint your thoughts on sh—t before you get a chance. Thank you.”
