Reba McEntire has never met her long-time friend Dolly Parton’s husband Carl Thomas Dean.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live earlier this week, host Andy asked the country music star whether Dolly was a good cook.
“I don’t know, I’ve never had her food. She’s never invited me over, no,” she replied.
Andy then questioned Reba whether she had ever met Dolly’s mysterious husband.
“No. Have you?” the 69-year-old queried, to which Andy declared he hadn’t but noted that “people really do swear he exists”.
“Yeah,” agreed Reba. “I saw something the other day. They were out camping, and she and Carl went back to where they got married… Well, I feel better that you haven’t met him now.”
Accordingly, Andy quipped, “Well, what do I know? Who have I met? You’re the queen of country, Reba, in my mind.”
Dolly and Carl met in 1964 and married two years later.
And while the Jolene hitmaker often speaks about her husband in interviews, he is rarely seen in public.
However, Dolly offered up some insight into life with Carl, 82, during an interview for Entertainment Tonight in January 2023.
“I think I’ve talked pretty much about everything through the years with Carl, and we’re different people. But we just work so well together,” the 78-year-old shared. “He’s kind of a loner so he doesn’t really like being with anybody but me, when I’m home – I mean, he’s not one to kind of get out there and socialise that much. He loves living on the farm, taking care of the property as he has for all these many years, and then, we just have a lot to talk about.”
In May 2016, Dolly shared that she and Carl had renewed their vows in honour of their 50th wedding anniversary.
