Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she was “hit hard” by Liam Payne’s death.
The British TV personality and singer has admitted the recent death of One Direction star Liam has had a huge impact on her.
Liam tragically died at the age of 31 on 16 October when he fell from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A preliminary toxicology report later revealed he had “multiple substances” in his system when he died.
In a new interview with Us Weekly, Kelly revealed she spoke to Liam shortly before his shock death and recalled he was in a “good place”.
“He was checking on me to make sure that I was OK,” the 40-year-old continued of their last conversation. “The fact that there was nobody there for him just absolutely breaks my heart.”
The star’s comments come soon after her mother Sharon Osbourne paid tribute to Liam the day after his death.
“Liam, my heart aches. We all let you down,” the former X Factor judge wrote on Instagram. “Where was this industry when you needed them? You were just a kid when you entered one of the toughest industries in the world.”
Sharon continued by questioning, “Who was in your corner? Rest in peace, my friend.”
Liam was open about his struggles with addiction in recent years and revealed last year that he had been in rehab.
Meanwhile, Kelly – who previously admitted she started abusing substances at the age of 13 – has been sober since 2021.
