This year's edition of the world's leading electronic music summit attracted some 500,000 fans to the Dutch capital, where Afro House took center stage. Under the twinkling lights of the city, the rooftop venue became a dance sanctuary as Afro House icons AWEN, DJEFF and Floyd Lavine took over the decks to celebrate the official event. Opal Records launch party. Combining Afro rhythms with an Ibizan atmosphere, the evening showcased the genre's power to transport audiences, fusing the genre's signature rhythm with euphoric soundscapes. The experience precisely reflected the unique blend of community and artistry that the genre champions, while champagne toasts and heartfelt exchanges filled the evening with camaraderie.
Two days later, the momentum continued with the Opal x Nambaka event at Soulkitchen on October 18th. FNX Omar, Karyendasoul and Lazarusman took to the stage with powerful live performances that combined live drumming, dance and electronic music, bringing the rich textures of the genre to life.
At Club Prime the next day, the TRIANGLE event”Immerse yourself in the unknown“offered a different, but no less intimate, flavor of Afro House. Rising stars Joezi and Tayllor led the night, infusing the room with deep tribal elements rooted in the underground. With a focus on emerging Afro House artists, TRIANGLE laid the foundation for future innovators of the genre in an intimate and transformative space.
For fans looking for a communal celebration of transformative unifying power, the One Tribe event at Shelter was one of ADE's standout events. Held at the underground Shelter venue beneath the A'DAM Tower, the night brought together renowned artists such as LP Giobbi and AMÉMÉ, a member of EDM.com's Class of 2023. Deep, funky sounds emerged from the Funktion-One sound system as LED images flashed in harmony with the movements of the crowd. ADE's Afro House offering culminated with the MoBlack Records Showcase at the Chicago Social Club, curated by a luminary of the genre, MoBlack. Each set from Arymé, Francis Mercier, Benja and EDM.com Class of 2024 star Nirefreak brought a unique approach to the genre's fusion of soulful beats with future electronic beats.
