During her Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas, pop superstar Adele has met superstars such as Hillary Clinton, Jennifer Lopez and plenty more. Now, she can add another A-lister to those ranks: Meryl Streep.
During her post-Halloween performance on Friday (Nov. 1), Adele — who just so happened to be dressed as Streep’s character from Death Becomes Her, Madeline Ashton — strolled through the audience while singing “When We Were Young” and spotted the Oscar-winning actress in the VIP section.
In a fan-filmed video, Adele immediately rushed up to Streep to greet her mid-song and gave her a hug after Streep finished bowing to the performer. “What a f–king honor,” Adele yelled into the mic while hugging the actress. “I love you.”
The clip comes after Adele famously met Celine Dion during an October performance of her residency. Performing in the The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace — which was built for Dion’s residency two decades ago — Adele praised the iconic singer for attending in a thank you note posted online.
“Celine I love you so very very much. Words will never sum up what you mean to me, or what you coming to my show means, let alone how it felt seeing you back in your palace with your beautiful family,” she wrote in her post. “I have loved being there it has been such an honor and Saturday night will be something I remember forever and ever. Such a full circle moment for me to be there with you.”
The singer’s residency is close to coming to a close. After two years of performances, Weekends With Adele will officially host its final performance on Saturday, Nov. 23. Find out how to get tickets here.
