Shaboozey's “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” rebounds for a 16th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, matching the longest reign of the 2020s. The song, which became the singer-songwriter's first leader in July, matches dominated by Morgan Wallen's “Last Night” — like “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” a country-pop crossover — in 2023.
In the entire 66-year history of the Hot 100, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is now tied for the second-longest command, among just five hits that preceded it for at least 16 weeks. Lil Nas X's “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, ruled for a record 19 weeks in 2019.
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” additionally extends this year's longest No. 1 run – 20 weeks – on the multi-metric Hot Country Songs chart. It is one of only nine titles to reach the milestone since the survey became the genre's comprehensive song chart in 1958.
Elsewhere in the Hot 100's top 10, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' “Die With a Smile” climbs 4-2 for a new high, helped by three new releases and track week sales.
Additionally, Tyler, the Creator scores his first two Hot 100 top 10s: “St. Chroma,” featuring Daniel Caesar – the most-streamed song of the week – debuts at No. 7, and “Noid” soars 43-10. Both are from his new album, Chromaticitywhich soars to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Hot 100 combines all-genre US streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, with the latter metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers. Digital single sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) websites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated November 9, 2024) will be updated on Billboard.com on Tuesday, November 5). Hits with most weeks at No. 1 of all time
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” ties Morgan Wallen's “Last Night”'s 16-week reign on the Hot 100 in 2023 for the longest of the 2020s. (The former moves out of a tie with its 15-week leader Harry Styles “As It Was” in 2022.)
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is now one of five No. 1s in the entire history of the Hot 100 to accumulate 16 or more weeks at the top – out of a total of 1,175 chart-toppers dating back to the chart's inception on August 4, 1958. (All five have preceded since the chart adopted electronically controlled Luminate data in November 1991, so long dominances from before became more common thereafter.)
