With the countdown to Envision Festival 2025 underway, it now hits a snag: an unexpected burst of email written by founder and creative director Joshua Wendel with the title “Envision 2025 Postponement: Returning to Our Roots for a Future stronger.”
“We are writing to share an important decision we have made regarding the future of Envision,” the email begins. “After careful consideration, we have decided to postpone the 2025 event to 2026…While this is not an easy step, we believe it is crucial to ensuring Envision not only survives but thrives in the years to come.”
The news is a big surprise for fans of the beloved Costa Rican festival. Just three months ago, the Envision team released “Back To Our Roots,” a brilliant teaser that signals the festival's imminent return from March 3-10, 2025.
The postponement is a reminder that good things take time and that we all need a break, even and especially festival organizers.
Planning and organizing an international festival of Envision's scale is an immense task. The event has been going strong for 15 years and while there have been some setbacks along the way, growing pains are inevitable.
All in all, sometimes it's best to take a break to slow down and return to our roots. “The stronger the roots, the greater the fruits,” says the voice in the “Back To Our Roots” video.
