Rihanna has joked she’s going to vote with her son’s passport, because she isn’t eligible to do so.
The singer isn’t a US citizen, so isn’t able to vote in the election on 5 November.
However, she’s encouraging others to vote, and took to social media to make her stance clear.
“POV: me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport #votecauseicant,” she captioned a reel of her looking out a car window.
She added in the below caption, “When protecting p**sies and firing p**sies can happen all in one vote #votecauseicant #TanSuitSeason,” she wrote, appearing to refer to the highly publicised tan suits of Kamala Harris and former president Barack Obama.
Rihanna, 36, is mum to sons RZA, two, and Riot Rose, 14 months, who she shares with partner A$AP Rocky. Both boys are US citizens, so will be eligible to vote in the US when they are adults.
Rihanna was born in Barbados and although she moved to the US in 2005, she’s never become a US citizen.
In the 2018 election, The Fenty Beauty founder also encouraged people to vote, writing, “If you’re tired of complaining about the state of the country and government, get up and do something about it!!! #VOTE … simple!!! You have no excuse, and If you live in any of these states it’s not too late to register today!! C’mon man, LET’S GO!!!!!”
When a fan questioned whether she was “even a US citizen,” she replied, “Nah I’m an immigrant tryna get yo country together. Did u vote?”
