Camila Cabello has recalled being overcome with emotion when she received praise from Beyoncé.
The 27-year-old former Fifth Harmony member has released four albums since her solo career began in 2017 – with her most recent, C,XOXO, released in June this year.
The Havana singer says she was bowled over when she was told by Destiny’s Child star Beyoncé that she loved her work.
Reflecting on the heart-stopping moment on the And The Writer Is?.?.?.? podcast, Cabello said, “I met somebody who told me something about my album recently: Beyoncé.
“She fully was like, ‘I love your new album’ and I was like, ‘You inspire me so much’. I just walked away and I cried.”
In the same interview, Cabello explained that she had been questioning her place in the music industry before receiving the glowing feedback.
She said, “I’ve been feeling so vulnerable and fragile. I think I’ve just been spending more time on social media than I usually do, and then I’ll? read comments and see something that leaves me f***ed. It’s just been really, really hard.”
The star released her debut album, titled Camila, in 2018 which topped the chart in the USA and reached number 2 in the UK.
Her most recent album included the singles I Luv It, He Knows, and Hot Uptown but drew mixed reviews from music critics upon release.
