Veteran glam-metal outfit Poison are set to take to the stage again in the near future, drummer Rikki Rockett has confirmed.
The band, which formed in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania in 1983, has been largely sporadic in their existence for the past 15 years, with their most recent string of concerts taking place in 2022 alongside Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe.
However, talking to Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM's Trunk nationRockett – who has played with the group since its inception – said a 2026 comeback is in the works.
Trunk approached the matter when he told the drummer that frontman Bret Michaels had been in touch and prompted him to inquire about the band's future.
“When I announced on socials about a week ago when I knew you were coming today,” Trank explained. “Bret texted me – Bret Michaels – a day or two ago and said, 'Hey, I hear you're going to put Rocket in. Send him my love and tell him Poison 2026.”
“Yes, yes, yes, absolutely. '26 will definitely happen,” Rockett confirmed. “I mean, unless something unforeseen happens, but all the band members have put their hands together and said, 'Yeah, we're definitely doing it – without a doubt.'
Poison released their first album, Look what the cat draggedin 1986, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard 200 that same year. Their sequel, 1988's Open and say… Ah!would write one position higher, with the F of the 1990slesh & Blood repeating this feat.
Despite singles like “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” topping the Hot 100 and other hits like “Talk Dirty to Me,” “Nothin' But a Good Time” and “Unskinny Bop” all reaching the top ten, Poison' They didn't score another chart hit after 1993, with their last album—a record-breaking cover titled Poisoned!— arrival in 2007.
Since then, Michaels has embarked on a solo career in addition to becoming a TV star thanks to Rock of Love with Bret Michaels and The Celebrity Apprentice.
Earlier this year, Michaels confirmed that he would be out “most, if not all, of 2025” due to “natural adversities” which he explained were “diabetes, a brain bleed, skin cancer and [his] self-titled 'headbanger's neck''.
Michaels, who had previously dealt with many health problems, he told fans earlier this year that he would be “taking out most, if not all, of it in 2025” due to some encounters with “natural adversities,” which he specified were “diabetes, a brain bleed, skin cancer and his so-called headbanger's Brett. neck'.”
