Coldplay have made a habit of dropping the odd cover on their tightly scripted record-breaking Music of the Spheres world tour. But during Sunday night's show at Accor Stadium in Sydney, Australia – the final gig in a four-night stand at the 83,500-capacity venue – they got an unexpected take on a Travis Scott song that praised “Sicko Mode” MC. in the group.

“I hear those every time,” growled Martin as he ran across the stage with an acoustic guitar behind his back as guitarist Jonny Buckland tore through a rock solo. The unlikely cover caught the headliner's attention, with the rapper praising his track's take, writing to X, “He got that,” along with a goat emoji.

Scott has called out Coldplay several times in lyrics, including on 2016's “Way Back” (“Flew with that sound n–ga, got that Coldplay”) and then again on 2023's “Til Further Notice” (“I been bumpin ' more Coldplay, the world is cold as s–t.”) Plus, fans have taken to mutual attraction, with one remixer making inventive compositions like “A sky full of goose“and”Viva La Goosebumps.”
