Spiritbox have announced their second album, sea tsunamiavailable March 7 via Pale Chord/Rise Records. Ahead of its release, the Canadian metal band has released the single “Perfect Soul.”
On the song, Spiritbox expands their progressive metal sound with electronic textures and industrial-style percussion. The dense layers of guitar and Courtney LaPlante's ethereal vocals have a shoegaze tinge (think Slowdive playing metal) that obscures some of the mathematical dynamics still at work under the hood. A Dylan Hryciuk-directed music video for the song will be released at 3 p.m. ET on Monday (November 18).
It is the second single from sea tsunami following “Soft Spine,” a more aggressive metal number. The album was produced by Dan Braunstein and Mike Stringer, mixed by Zakk Cervini and mastered by Ted Jensen.
The end of 2024 has been a busy season for Spiritbox, who were recently nominated for Best Metal Performance at the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards for their song “Cellar Door.” The band was also tapped to support Korn's 30th anniversary tour earlier this year and has another major support slot on the horizon, opening shows for Linkin Park in Italy, the Netherlands and the UK next June.
Before that, Spiritbox will be headlining the UK and Europe in February with support from Periphery. get tickets here.
