Jimmy Fallon and Jon Hamm? More like Scott Stapp times two.
THE Mad Men actor was invited to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently, where the duo reminisced about when they “were Creed.”
“We were the lead singer of the band Creed,” Hamm noted, before Fallon recalled, “we did that one music video together at the Scottish feast.”
Then there was a flashback, in which both Hamm and Fallon rock singer Stapp wore long brown locks and a yellow jacket. The 1999 music video for Creed's hit, 'With Arms Wide Open'. The two exchange verses amid a vast green landscape, hit the triumphant chorus—and embrace each other deeply in the process—singing, “With arms wide open under the sunlight/ Welcome to this place, you'll I'll show you everything.”
Creed recently wrapped up their 40-date reunion tour, marking their first time on the road together in over a decade. “I feel as strong as ever vocally and I can't wait to share the stage with the guys again,” Stapp said in a statement at the time of the concert announcement. “The fans have made it clear to us that they think it's long overdue. I want to give them what they deserve. I'm ready to bring it.”
As a group, Creed scored hits such as “One”, “Higher”, “My Sacrifice” and, of course, “With Arms Wide Open”. Their 1999 second album, Human Clayhas sold 11.7 million copies to date, according to Luminate.
