During a recent concert in Newark, New Jersey, Morrissey not only appeared, but also stated that “no one” will release his music because of the war on “free speech” in England.
As reported by the Asbury Park PressThe former Smiths singer made the comments at the Performing Arts Center on Wednesday (Nov. 13) as he opened up to the audience about his struggles releasing new music.
“As you know, no one will release my music anymore,” Morrissey said. “As you know, because I am a main exponent of freedom of expression. At least in England, it is now criminalised.
He continued: “You cannot speak freely in England. If you don't believe me, go there. Express an opinion and you'll be sent to prison. “It is very, very difficult.”
