Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga keep on winning with their hit collaboration, “Die With a Smile.” The song, which was released in August, became the fastest song to reach one billion streams in Spotify history.
“We like to call that legendary behavior,” the streaming platform captioned its Instagram post announcing the news.
Gaga and Mars spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Die With a Smile” this year. The song recently topped Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart. Gaga now boasts eight career Pop Airplay No. 1s and Mars, 10 – tying him with Justin Bieber for the most among solo males.
Additionally, “Die With a Smile” notched two Grammy nominations for the 2025 ceremony, including song of the year and best pop duo/group recording.
Shortly after the project dropped over the summer, the Joker star and “Uptown Funk!” hitmaker gave “Die With a Smile” its live debut at Mars’ concert at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Gaga then took to Instagram to thank fans for their support of the song. “Watching fans from all over the world celebrate this music has meant so much to me, to see the words of the song touch your heart and the video provoke this huge wave of dancing and fun is beautiful to watch and I’m so grateful,” she wrote alongside a series of photos, in which she’s seen in her retro-style attire from the track’s accompanying music video. “Thank you thank you thank you for loving our song i love you for real and i hope the message of love we shared will continue to create special moments for you all in your lives—I know it does in mine every day. The power of music is big and your love of this song reminded me of that.”
