Gracie Abrams had the adventure of a lifetime opening for Taylor Swift on the singer's Eras tour last year. But with the end of the world tour just two weeks away, Abrams took some time on Sunday (November 24) to reflect on the latest chapter in her wild ride.
“Torontooooo ❤️💔 I will never forget these six shows. You were so strong and so generous and so kind.” Abrams wrote along with a series of highlights from the six-show run at the Rogers Center in Toronto that began on November 14 and concluded on Saturday (November 23). “Thank you for hanging out with us while we waited @taylorswift that brought me to tears every night for the past two weekends… Cassandra x crazy woman x I did something bad forever good night.” The latter was a reference to the exciting mash-up Swift held during the five-night run in Toronto, which included the unique Section The tortured poets: The Anthology song (“Cassandra”) that Swift had not yet performed live.
Photos on the roll included Abrams greeting the crowd from the stage and singing a duet with Swift in a surprise pairing of Taylor's. 1989 tune “Out of the Woods” and their joint track “Us” by Abrams Our secret album during the November 16 show. Elsewhere on the roll, Abrams posed in front of a mural of a maple leaf and hugged Swift onstage amid other footage from the Toronto shows.
Abrams has spent the past year, on-and-off, on the road with Swift on the history-making tour. He first took the stage in Arlington, Texas in March 2023 at the start of the tour alongside Beabadoobee and Gracie, and has since been show hopping throughout his first run of North American dates through an August 8 show at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. She was back in the mix last month when Swift returned from Europe for a trio of shows at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, followed by shows in New Orleans and Indianapolis before the final Canadian shows.
