Moby delves into his journey from a young musician experimenting with punk rock to his embrace of electronic music and DJ culture. Everything led to PlayMoby's 1999 album that marked his global breakthrough and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year; with the singles “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?”, “Honey”, “Porcelain” and “South Side” with Gwen Stefani. Play took Moby and his unique style of production and songwriting to new critical and commercial heights.
The producer reveals how he first met The Shining Light Gospel Choir, whose vocals appear on the song, and how the song actually relates to his 1991 single “Go” (which sampled “Laura Palmer's Theme” from Angelo Badalamenti from the classic television series. twin peaks).
Also in this episode, Moby talks about his latest album, Always focused at nighta collection of 13 new songs with collaborations from various vocalists. He also mentions his advocacy for animal rights and why raising money for charities is the only thing that will allow him to go on tour.
