Nathy Peluso dazzled during her late night TV debut The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday (December 2), captivating the audience with a powerful performance of “El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud” and “Corleone” from her latest album, Grease.
Decked out in an elegant vintage-inspired off-white dress and a glittering 1920s headpiece, the Argentinian singer-songwriter-producer delivered a set filled with raw emotion and a nostalgic nod to 70s Latin fans, with an appearance from Brit artist-turned-producer Blood Orange on acoustic guitar.
The ballad “El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud” reflects on the loss of youth and innocence, describing moments of longing for a return to a simpler, more innocent time. Meanwhile, “Corleone” explores themes of ambition, dissatisfaction, and the relentless pursuit of more despite having already achieved. “This ambition is killing me,” (or “This ambition is killing me”) closed with a hideous brood.
The 29-year-old, based in Spain, was released Club Grasa in September, in which she enlisted eight international EDM producers on her first remix project. Her first US tour is expected to begin in March. “This tour is about embracing who we are and celebrating it with every beat,” Nathy Peluso said in a press release. “It's raw and full of energy. I can't wait to share these unforgettable moments with all of you!”
In November, he won three Latin Grammys for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Song (“Aprender A Amar”), Best Alternative Song (“El Día Que Perdí Mi Juventud”) and Best Long-Term Music Video (Grasa). Nathy is currently nominated for Best Latin Rock or Alternative album Grease.
