Prepare for Freddy Krueger to haunt your dreams in remastered 4K Ultra HD: Wes Craven's classic slasher film A Nightmare on Elm Street will arrive on 4K Blu-ray just in time for Halloween on October 15. Pre-orders Releases for the 40th anniversary are underway.
He Limited Edition Steelbook and Standard 4K Blu-ray Both have remastered versions for cinema and without cuts. A Nightmare on Elm Street in HDR, along with previously released bonus features like Ready Freddy Focus Points, which allows viewers to see alternate takes and filmmaking secrets by jumping to video highlights.
Other extras include director and cast commentary, alternate endings, and three featurettes: The House That Freddy Built: New Line's Legacy of Terror, Never Sleep Again: The Making of A Nightmare on Elm Streetand Night Terrors: The Origins of Wes Craven's Nightmares.
Written and directed by Craven, A Nightmare on Elm Street introduced Robert Englund's now-iconic Freddy Krueger to horror fans. It also starred Johnny Depp and Heather Langenkamp in some of their earliest roles.
The most recent main film in the franchise, Freddy is dead: The final nightmarewas released in 1991, while a remake starring Jackie Earle Haley hit theaters in 2010.
