A$AP Rocky remains active with the role of creative director at PUMA. A new motorsport collection is on the way.
As mentionted with Hypebeast, The Harlem, New York native is deep in his fashion bag this summer. This week, A$AP and Global Apparel announced a new drop that's race-inspired but just the right speed for everyday wear. The collection includes a two-piece hoodie, gloves, tees and an update to the Inhale OG sneaker, which originally released in 2000. The goal was to bring the performance feel to the track, so most of the pieces show some wear. For example, the Padded Balaclava was designed to look like a standard racing helmet and features a removable visor and bungee closure.
The self-proclaimed Fashion Killa detailed his excitement for the upcoming drop in an official statement. “This Miami collection aims to give fans the opportunity to own their own racing uniform from helmet to shoes,” said A$AP. “Other sports have kits available for the consumer and I wanted to bring that to F1. For the visuals, I wanted to show how as adults we can lose the dreams and imaginations we had as children and really love how it all came together.”
The collection is available in the US at 10am. EST on May 3 on the PUMA website. You can preview the collection here and watch the promotional trailer below.
