Adele blasted homophobic fans during her Las Vegas show at the weekend.
During her Weekends With Adele concert on Saturday (June 1), which marked the start of Pride Month, an audience member shouted 'Pride sucks' between songs.
As shown in a video taken by fansthe “Someone Like You” singer briefly interrupted her performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace to applaud the rude concert fan with some harsh words of her own.
“You came on my show to say 'Pride sucks?' answered Adele sitting at the piano. “You're an idiot; Don't be so ridiculous.”
The 16-time Grammy winner continued: “If you don't have anything good to say, shut up, okay?” Her quick rebuke drew applause from the crowd.
Adele is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. Last year it celebrated Pride Month wearing a rainbow flag dress during a show in Las Vegas. “I'll be celebrating all month long,” she told her fans. “Happy Pride!” The singer too waved a Pride flag during her Hyde Park concert in London in 2022.
In June 2016, Adele also dedicated her concert at the Sportpaleis in Belgium to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. The massacre at the LGBTQ+ club left 49 dead and 53 injured.
“The LGBTQA community, they've been like my soul mates since I was very young, so it really moves me,” she told fans on the show.
Adele's Las Vegas residency continues through June 15. After a series of concerts in Munich this summer, he will return to Sin City at the end of October for five additional weekends.
