Boise, Idaho-based mixed media performance artist Street Fever releases his new album, Absolution. The album is a sermon that addresses recovery, faith, disruption and perseverance. Absolution It fuses elements of techno, industrial, electro, rap, hardcore and electronic music.
The artist paints a picture of sonically versatile and devastating performance art. They combine aspects of techno, industrial, electro, rap, hardcore and EBM to bring you a brave symphony of seductive and captivating sound, full of light and transcendent energy.
After losing all his possessions, being institutionalized multiple times, and nearly losing his life in a Southeast Asian prison, Street Fever has been reborn and intends to use it as a platform to talk about his recovery and addiction. Now more than ever, you have the power to share your story to connect with others seeking personal and spiritual growth.
Spanning 15 tracks, from a subjective perspective, entry points into Absolution include the opening track, “Trust,” which travels with infectious tones topped by powerful, whispering spoken vocals. At once fascinating and intense, an emotional urgency permeates the melody.
“La Corde” unfolds with eerie synths that flow onto dark, industrial surfaces, moaning with painful tones. Dreamy, sing-song vocals imbue the French lyrics with introspective timbres that rise to undertones of anger.
Loaded with somber sensuality, “Fate” features industrial harmonics set to a techno rhythm, reflecting the conflict between feelings and thoughts. Meanwhile, “Sensation” pulses with visceral energy, highlighted by a fiercely loud kick drum and frenetic beats mixed with techno that emanate strident, haunting textures.
A fusion of hip-hop, techno and industrial, “Amour Votre Entite” vibrates with kinetic force and then shifts into almost orchestral sounds. “In Your Lungs” evokes vibrant, coagulated leaks of voluptuous and perversely exciting industrial suggestions.
The final track, “Asylum,” features a ghostly, sinister intro similar to the Phantom of the Opera. A haunting, luminous top line enters, adding to the chilling effect of the song. With AbsolutionStreet Fever alters the language and soundscape of electronic music.
