Big Latto she opens up about a time when she didn't feel “grown up” and allowed insecurities to drive her into surgery.
On Monday (June 17) a clip taken from a live fan session went viral after the ATLien shared that online critics of her physical shape at 21 led her to go under the knife to get a BBL after signing the deal her.
“My body was so tea,” said Latto. “I put on a bit of weight because I signed my contract when I was 21. When I had just turned 21 and had money and was living a whole new life, I was eating out. You know I'm a foodie. Well, now I have the money to feed that foodie in me. So I just put on some weight and everyone on the internet was calling me 'bad body' and stuff, so I feel like that played a part, because I started to be a little insecure about my body.”
The reflection echoed her 2023 interview with Apple Music, when she shared that she had done some “work” before giving women the option to go for a more natural look, saying:
“I did some work on my body or whatever,” Latto said at the time. “Some tea. A b***h looks natural. It's one thing about it, if you're going to do it, do it right. I did it right. For a girl who has the little bites, I make sure I don't touch anything.”
During the viral clip, Latto also spoke about the backlash she received for undergoing surgery, noting that the experience made her understand the importance of not caring what others think.
“Every time I post a picture of the gym, people say, 'Oh, he got BBL,'” Latto continued. “I was so loud and clear about a BBL I had four years ago. When I was 21, that's what you convinced me I needed, by the way. B*** is already on their third, fourth round. I got a BBL four years ago. That's all I am now, you know. I get up and go to the gym! The moral of the story: I just think everybody should stop worrying about everybody,” he expressed. “Natural girls win. Surgical girls… BBL girls win. Do what works for you and mind your own business. Make your own decisions based on what you want to do, not what others tell you to do.”
