AMÉMÉ's distinctive Afro-house sound will liven up club dance floors and festival audiences all summer long long after she drops a new EP.
The EDM.com Class of 2023 alum has landed on Chris Lake's label, Black Book Records with the sensual project, Atalakou / Bullfighter. Energetic, magnetic and moving, each of its two songs forges a dynamic duo that fuses tribal elements with rhythms.
On “Atalakou,” airy vocal chants complement hypnotic drums and melodies to infuse a heavy dose of groove. With an ecstatic drop, AMÉMÉ collides two unique worlds with afro influence and funky house.
On the other hand, “Torero” combines bold brass instrumentals with punchy percussion and organic vocal samples to deliver an upbeat dancefloor heater. Tailor-made for the summer season, the song effortlessly encapsulates the carefree vitality of AMÉMÉ's music.
In other AMÉMÉ news, West African recently released “Wild Animal” via One People, an offshoot of Defected Records. Another big release came last month with “Never,” which came out on Gorgon City’s label, REALM.
The Afro-house pioneer has also been developing his “One Tribe” event series. The brand will host its second residential installation at the Amsterdam Shelter on June 22, after a fascinating debut. Tickets are available here.
