Univision revealed that Ana Barbara, Don Omar and Olga Tañon will receive special awards at Premio Lo Nuestro 2024, Advertising sign can only announce.
Recognized for her thirty-year career and continuous contribution to the genre of Mexicana music, singer-songwriter Ana Barbara will be honored with the “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Trajectoria” award. Don Omar, who makes a triumphant return with new music and a tour in 2024, will receive the 'Ícono Global' award to celebrate his work in the reggaeton scene.
Meanwhile, Tañon, one of the biggest names in tropical music, will be honored with the “Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia”. This title “is not only awarded to artists who have built an impeccable musical legacy, but have also served as pioneers in their genre, creating a positive impact beyond the musical realm,” a press statement explained.
Nominations for the 2024 awards ceremony were revealed on Monday (January 22) with 14-time nominee Maluma leading the pack. They are followed by Peso Pluma (13), Grupo Frontera (10) and, with nine, Karol G and Feid.
Each of the top artists is nominated for the coveted Premio Lo Nuestro artist of the year award alongside other top contenders including Bad Bunny, Camilo, Carin León, Ozuna and Shakira. See the full list here.
Co-hosted by Galilea Montijo, Clarissa Moline and Angélica Vale, the 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro will be broadcast live from Miami, Florida at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday, February 22 via Univision. Fans can vote for their favorite artists until February 4th here.
