Appearance of André 3000 The store continues to make headlines.
First, he made news when he told the story about Pimp C initially being upset about the verse he shot for “Int'l Players Anthem.” He and Sexyy Red then had a nice time as they bonded over people drinking hate.
This time he's in the news for responding to LL Cool J's frustration with his flute instrumental album New Blue Sun.
The 56-year-old Queens rapper, who is on the verge of releasing his 14th solo album, was a guest on The store a few weeks ago when he expressed his feelings about his first solo album 3000. While having a chat with filmmaker Lena Waithe about what inspires them, New Blue Sun The rap legend said: “Let's not lie to ourselves: I don't want to hear him play the flute,” before asking the audience, “Do you want to hear me play the violin? You might not want to hear me do sh–, but you want to hear me play the violin?'
Adding, “I want to hear him hang with Big Boi, I want them to do an OutKast [album] or do a solo album. Every time he does a verse, it's enough material for an album! He is so gifted. So he's like, “Come on, B. Not the flute.” This man must know the truth.'
LL also said he disagreed with the idea that older rappers have nothing to rap about. “When you were 14, you didn't hear about teenage growth spurts. So why do you have to get old and talk about the prostate?' She then went on to say that she loves Andre, but disagrees with the idea that you might run out of things to say. “With all due respect, I disagree with that because he has it in him.”
Stacks didn't take what LL said and responded in a measured way, saying, “To me, I feel like it's into you — because I have friends my age and older than me who still rap — so if it's into you, you gotta rap until you die You have to play until you die.”
However, he reiterated why he's not confident right now when it comes to making a full rap album. “But what I'm saying is that what it takes to do it, I'm always looking for it Next. I'm not trying to back up anything I've done in the past.”
Adding, “Of course, I have things to say now, but if I can't say them in a fresh, innovative way, if I feel like I'm stuck in the same flow that I used to, it's not enough for me. So I can't speak for another rapper about what they're doing. I'm just like, 'Dude, take it. If it's in you.”
