Ángela Aguilar is blocking the buzz surrounding her whirlwind wedding to Christian Nodal.
In a recent interview with ABC News, the 21-year-old Latina music star addressed the rumors that her relationship began over the summer when the pair tied the knot in July — just two months after Nodal, 25, announced her split from Argentinian rapper Cazzu , with whom they share a young daughter.
“I don't really feel like I have to explain anything to anybody,” Aguilar told ABC in the interview, as shared in a clip premiered exclusively by Rolling Stone on Thursday (October 17). “I think people are abused and I think people are misrepresented. I think they don't put our characters where they should be. They don't even know 5 percent of the story they're trying to tell, but that's okay. Because that sells.”
The 'La llorona' singer's relationship with Nodal has indeed left fans wondering. The two artists have known each other for years, having toured together with Pepe Aguilar – Ángela's father – in 2018 before collaborating on “Dime Cómo Quieras” in 2020. Two years later, rumors of their romance emerged within a week from Nodal confirming its split with Cazzu. by the end of July they were married.
Cazzu opened up about her feelings on the matter in June, telling her fans on Instagram: “Life is not completely beautiful or completely horrible, nor are people 100% good or bad… Now let's turn the page, live and let's live”.
Four months later, Angela tells ABC News that “all parties are together and united.”
“We're all on the same page and nobody's heartbroken,” she added, apparently referring to Cazzu. “We have a clear conscience. We're all fine, we're all happy, we're adults. We know how to handle this situation. What you see on social media is not what it is.”
