Anna Camp joins Kyle Meredith talk about Neo-Dome, a short film in which she plays a woman traveling alone in a post-economic collapse America with the promise of a utopian dome on the horizon. Listen to the new episode above, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The actress talks about the details of her unique character and how the project serves as a pilot of sorts for a new series. She also discusses the sources of inspiration she gained for her acting. “They really wanted her to look a little bit like the Coen brothers,” she recalls. To achieve the vibe, Camp turned to a Southern accent and leaned into the script's subtle comedy.
She says the filmmakers “lean in[ed] a bit in the Cohen brothers kind of world. We immersed ourselves in that. There is some comedy: some of the lines are crazy. I think I'm saying, 'It's hotter than a jalapeno's pussy in here.'”
Camp goes on to talk about the inherent darkness of the role and how he likes playing darker characters in general. Specifically, she talks about wanting to stop always playing happy women. She's killing it here, as well as with her upcoming projects, including hard bridge and Hysteria.
