Ariana Grande is feeling grateful after the success of her new album Eternal sunshine.
On Monday, the singer shared an Instagram post celebrating the LP after it debuted at Number One on Advertising sign 200 and its single “We Can't Be Friends” also debuted at Number One on the Hot 100.
“I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart,” the singer wrote on Instagram. “It's impossible to put into words what I felt this week. This album is the most special to me for many reasons and it has so much.”
“His sharing has re-opened a lot of small and big emotions and it's been an emotional week in many ways,” Grande continued. “But your incredibly loving response to everything made me feel such joy, human connection and comfort. I just wanted to say that I love and appreciate you all more than anyone can say.''
The singer also apologized for bringing up so much about the album (“I feel self-conscious about it,” she wrote) and ended her note by writing, “It is, as always, my greatest honor to grow with you… let us promise that we will let's continue!”
Grande released her album Eternal sunshine on March 8, and accompanied the release with a music video for Track 10, “We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” The album also included songs such as “Bye”, “Don't Wanna Break Up Again” and “Supernatural” featuring Troye Sivan.
In the comments of her new post, Joanne's mom shared how proud she was of her daughter. “So incredibly worthy!! Your musicianship and acting is excellent!! I love you! Congratulations!” she wrote.
Eternal sunshine marked Grande's fourth consecutive Number One album. Of the seven albums she's released since her 2013 debut, all but Dangerous woman have reached the top of the album chart. Eternal sunshine debuted with 194.92 million official song streams of the on-demand set, along with 77,000 sales in the week ending March 14, according to Luminate, which powers the Billboard charts.
It is the biggest opening for an album in 2024 and the only album this year to top the chart with more than 200,000 units.
Rolling rockBrittany Spanos called Eternal sunshine “A wonderfully exposed journey to the end of her world — or at least what she thinks is the end” in a review of the album.
