Ashley Cooke scores her first top 10 Advertising signCountry Airplay chart as “Your Place” climbs from No. 11 to No. 9 on the list dated May 11. It rose 5% to 17.9 million audience impressions from April 26 to May 2, according to Luminate.
The song is the 26-year-old Parkland, Florida native's second Country Airplay entry and first solo debut. He co-wrote it with Jordan Minton and Mark Trussell, and Jimmy Robbins produced it. Her new entry, “Never Til Now”, featuring Brett Young, reached No. 49 in December 2022.
Cooke's current single is from her LP Shot in the darkwhich peaked at No. 14 best Advertising signHeatseekers Albums chart as of August 2023. He had co-written 20 of the set's 24 tracks.
Notably, “Your Place” marks the first top 10 entry for a female artist, without credited partners, on Country Airplay in nearly a year, since Megan Moroney's “Tennessee Orange” reached No. 4 last June. Prior to that, the last woman to earn her first top 10 single was Tenille Arts with “Somebody Like That,” which peaked at No. 3 in May 2021.
The Hunt Ties His Best
Sam Hunt's “Outskirts” dominates Country Airplay for best third-week tie (29.1 million, down 8%). His 10th No. 1 and second multi-week leader, it equals the three-week tally of 2017 crossover “Body Like a Back Road.”
Shaboozey raises the bar
Shaboozey makes his Country Airplay debut as “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” enters at No. 53 with 993,000 (up 740%). The song, which intersperses J-Kwon's 2004 hip-hop classic “Tipsy,” combined to make history on the May 4 multimetric Hot Country Songs chart: As it reached No. 1, Shaboozey dethroned “Texas Hold 'Em' by Beyoncé. marking the first time two black artists have led back-to-back since the survey became a comprehensive genre ranking in 1958.
