Former Donkey Star Bam Margera returned to prison earlier this week after violating the terms of his probation.
Court records show he was taken into custody on Wednesday (Sept. 18) and sent to Chester County Prison to await a hearing on “parole/probation violations” before Common Pleas Judge Patrick Carmody on Monday.
According to the local newspaper Main Line Media NewsState police arrested Margera on Monday (Sept. 16) in Needmore, Pennsylvania, on suspicion of driving under the influence and other summary offenses. This is a violation of the six-month probation sentence Margera received in June, when he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct related to an altercation with his brother.
As of Friday, no charges had been filed. “We are in the process of sorting this out,” Margera’s attorneys, Adam Leasure, Michael T. van der Veen and William J. Brennan, said in a statement. “Like every citizen of this country, Mr. Margera is presumed innocent.”
Margera has battled drug and alcohol addictions for much of his adult life. Last year, his ex-girlfriend Donkey His co-star Steve-O publicly called for Margera to “choose recovery,” telling him, “You're dying, bro.”
