Bartees Strange is back with a new single, “Lie 95,” which arrives today alongside a dreamy music video.
Co-produced by Strange, notcharles, and longtime collaborator Graham Richman, “Lie 95” is a passionate plea for love in an ’80s-tinged indie pop format. Over an energetic, mid-tempo beat, Strange sings lyrics detailing his search for human connection while on tour, with guest vocals from Kacy Hill and Charlene Gibbs.
“This song is about finding love throughout the Northeast Corridor (I-95), my universe,” Strange said in a statement. “I think of ‘Love’ in a broad sense: couples, friends, and community. This one’s for the road… and everything I find along the way.”
