Beabadoobee has reached a dizzying new career high after securing her first official UK No.1 album with This is how tomorrow moves.
The Filipino-British artist, known offstage as Beatrice Laus, saw her third debut studio album top the UK Official Albums Chartwhich was released on Friday, August 16, marking a major breakthrough in her musical journey.
The achievement builds on her previous chart successes, where her debut album Fake It Flowers landed at No. 8 in 2020, and Beatopia rose to No. 4 in 2022.
Beabadoobee shared with Official UK Charts: “I just got No. 1! I am so over the moon. I want to thank the fans who bought and streamed this record and got this album to #1 on the official album chart. I am so very happy. I couldn't have done it without you guys and everyone who worked on this record. Thank you. I love you all so much!”
This is how tomorrow moves It wasn't just at the top of the main table. It also reached No. 1 on both the Official Record Store Chart and the Official Vinyl album Chart.
In other chart news, by Will Young Turn it on debuted at No.5, adding an 11th UK Top 10 album to his long career. The Calvin Harris Collection 96 Months entered the chart at No. 11, continuing his streak of Top 40 hits.
Meanwhile, English blues singer Elles Bailey made her first UK Top 40 appearance with Under the Neon Glow at No. 12. Afrobeats artist Asake also celebrated a new peak, with LUNGU BOY debut at No. 15.
And in a nod to his enduring influence, Billy Joel's greatest hits collection Piano Man: The Very Best of Billy Joel re-entered the Top 40 at No. 32, following his UK performance in Cardiff.
