Chicago's Beach Bunny is back with a new single titled “Vertigo,” her first new release since 2022. emotional creature.
An upbeat pop-punk tune, “Vertigo” places the band’s tight rhythm section beneath a commanding vocal line from Lili Trifilio, who described the single as “a bop about self-sabotage, jealousy, and generally spiraling ( classic)”.

Referring to the song's origins, Trifilio explained that he is “on a journey of self-awareness” and, mirroring the airport-themed song's lyrics, he first thought of the melody on a flight. “I wrote this on a plane in my head and tried to do a demo in the bathroom very stealthily,” he said. “But airplane bathrooms are very noisy, so as not to forget what it was like, since the audio was garbage, I sang it in my head for an entire four-hour flight.”
The single arrives as Beach Bunny is wrapping up dates on her tour opening for Melanie Martinez, which still has upcoming stops in Florida, Texas, Arizona and California. After that, they'll play a show in Missouri with The Greeting Committee in August, and in September they'll return to Chicago for a set at Riot Fest 2024.
