Beauty and brutality collide in “Ceremony,” a new single released today by Marshmello and SVDDEN DEATH.
The song's intro slides into the fray with choral chills, which quickly mutate into a twisted bridge that bubbles like a puddle of toxic waste. Mello and SVDDEN DEATH then descend into darkness as their eerie melodies are swallowed whole by a dubstep snarl characterized by a furious swarm of distorted synths.
But the haunting undercurrent of the song's introduction lingers, its ghostly tendrils woven into the fabric of the gout's madness. It's the cathartic scream after fighting back tears: a love letter to dubstep written in the language of sonic warfare.
“Ceremony” arrives after the duo announced their momentous co-headlining “MELLODEATH” tour, which is scheduled to kick off April 4 at Colorado's iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Mello fans can expect more new music in the coming months, according to a post shared by the producer on x.
